1. What can I expect to pay?

The final price will be determined by the style of cake, number of servings, labour involved and the materials & ingredients necessary to create it.

Additional expenses may be incurred if you would like to order a custom made cake stand; have us order fresh flowers for your cake; or if we need to purchase any additional pieces for your cake.

2. When to order

To avoid disappointment I advise you to order your wedding cake about 3 months in advance, especially in the busy summer months.

For novelty cakes I require a 3-4 week notice.
I do not accept any orders with less than 1 week’s notice.

3. How to order

The best way to order will be to complete an enquiry form online. The more information you provide, the sooner I can get back to you.

Consultations are by appointment only and it includes a complimentary tasting for two from the range of 5 delicious sponge cakes and one rich fruit cake.

4. Cake design

Your inspiration is very important to create your dream wedding cake. You may choose a design from my range of cakes, or I can design a cake to suit your specific needs and taste.

We can use inspiration from your wedding dress, flowers, stationary etc. The details of the wedding venue like the wallpaper could also be incorporated.

How to give it your own personal touch? For example, incorporate your grandmother’s brooch or use a sample of your dress’ lace to create a brush embroidery design for your cake.

Please bring any ideas that you may have, it will help me to get a better idea of what your preferences are.

5. What you can change about the current range

You may change anything from the color scheme, flowers, shape and type of ribbon. You may add detail or make a simpler design by removing some detail.

Please note that some detail cannot be changed for technical reasons.

6. Flowers

You may choose between fresh flowers, sugar flowers or no flowers at all. When I use my florist, there would be an additional charge for fresh flowers, or we could arrange flowers from your florist a day in advance.

7. Delivery

I offer a delivery and set-up service in the Western Cape with a delivery charge according to distance traveled.

You may arrange for collection of your cake. Please note that once the cake leaves the studio we will not be held liable for any damages.

8. Flavours

There are 5 different sponge cake flavours, one rich fruit and one baked cheesecake. Please note that the cheesecake is NOT suitable for stacked cakes or mini cakes.

You may choose any combination of flavours for your cake, for example: you may choose one flavour for the cake or a different flavour for each tier.

For mini cakes, it is advisable to choose a different flavour for each design. The same applies for the cup cakes. There are 3 different cookie flavours to choose from.
